A very simple and traditional potato smasher from Finland made from turned and sanded but untreated Baltic birch. Shaped like a sharply truncated cudgel or soft-ball bat, the smasher is simply used as any masher might be, pushed down onto and into already boiled potatoes. Handmade by the craftspeople of a Finnish visually impaired workers cooperative. Approximately 29cm long and 5cm to the base.
