Bohin of France Wooden Metre Stick

A beech haberdasher's metre stick or rule produced for the Bohin company in Turkey by a drawing tool manufacturer specialising in wooden measuring instruments since 1947. Designed to quickly measure lengths of cloth the metre stick is marked on both sides with reversed scales (counting up in opposite directions) in 5mm gradations, whilst the ends are protected by curved and ground steel caps, allowing the rule to be turned end over end with ease and minimal snagging.
