Natural undyed, unbleached blankets woven at Elvet Mill, Carmarthenshire, Dark or light. The darker is woven from deep brown welsh black, and mid-grey Herdwick thread; the lighter lambswool and Herdwick. Both are in a herringbone pattern, although this is more pronounced in the paler of the two. These blankets are perhaps softer than might be expected given these breeds hardy mountain and lakeland origins but then the fleece of these breeds is designed primarily for warmth. Approximately 60 by 70 inches.
