Ice cube tray
Aluminium levered and seperable ice cube tray, 50's cocktail style. Being made of a highly conductive metal this will actually create ice more quickly than rubber or plastic equivalents - which is why famously wet hands can freeze to the trays. Designed by Arthur J Frei for Inland Manufacturing (then a division of general motors) in 1950. Almost certainly the only ice cube tray to be immortalized with a monument in its honour (in Dayton Ohio) which must say something of the quality of its design.
