This is a genuine new antique 10" Sabatier K tranchelard or slicing knife, ground from blanks forged by a smith using a hammer sometime during the 1950s, then left forgotten in some dusty corner of the workshop, only to be rediscovered and finished half a century later. It carries the stamped K mark from that time. This particular knife is in a style known a Massive with a rounded tang which pierces the handle through to the back, a narrow bolster, and steel cuff. Handled in blackened wood, and made from carbon steel. Obviously due to the nature of this product there are very limited supplies, when they are gone they are gone forever.
