Modern sharpener
With a stable, heavy cast iron body designed by Sam Hecht of Industrial Facility (renowned for his work at Muji), the Chantry Modern provides a fool proof method of sharpening european pattern stainless or carbon steel kitchen knives. Consisting of 2 rolling butchers steels, set at the correct angle and spring mounted in a replaceable mechanism, a knife, straight or scalloped, is simply drawn through without too much pressure - as if slicing bread. Originally designed for constant use in the meat processing industry, this mechanism has been unchanged and in production in Sheffield since 1929. Available in black or white.
